Coming Soon: Liberty Commons

TORONTO — In the heart of Liberty Village, Oliver & Bonacini and Big Rock Brewery are pairing up to build the Liberty Commons at Big Rock Brewery (Liberty Commons), a contemporary brew-pub which takes its inspiration from European beer halls and British pubs. Liberty Commons will be staffed by Chefs Anthony Walsh and John Horne and brewmaster Connor K. Patrick.

The team’s goal is to offer a combined food and beer experience by creatively blending the talents of both chef and brewmaster. “In partnering with Oliver & Bonacini, we are able to bring together our two worlds — introduce our quality, creative and diverse craft-beer line-up alongside an impressive culinary program.” says Robert Sartor, CEO of Big Rock Brewery.

The up-and-coming brew-pub, designed by the award-winning DesignAgency team, is set to occupy the entire lower floor of a heritage building where nostalgic remnants will collide with modern touches to create a lively and inviting environment. The locations will boast diverse seating, a contemporary bar and dining space, a customizable private dining area for events and a patio oasis comprised of lounge seating and outdoor fireplaces.

In addition, there will be a tasting room where Big Rock products will be available for sale at The Big Rock store-front on the main level.

“Big Rock has been leading the pack in brewing craft beer in Canada for over 30 years. They brew with skill and imagination and our brew-pub is set to follow suit with imaginative twists on fine comfort food,” says Andrew Oliver, president of Oliver & Bonacini. “Our unique chef-driven cuisine will reflect our shared commitment to quality and unite our passions in fun, innovative ways that will excite our guests.”
