WATERVILLE, N.B. — New Brunswick’s Covered Bridge Potato Chips has teamed up with Atlantic Canada’s largest pizza chain, Greco Pizza, to create the new Greco-Donair flavoured potato chips.

“We’re thrilled to team up with Greco Pizza to produce a unique snack that’s sure to have broad appeal, especially in the Maritimes where the donair ranks up there as one of the region’s most iconic foods,” says Covered Bridge CEO and president Ryan Albright. “It’s a natural fit for both of our companies and for our customers.”

The donair consists of kebab ground beef, tomatoes and onions and comes wrapped in a pita. It also comes with its own donair sauce, another Atlantic Canada staple and original recipe.

The new flavour is the result of a public contest, which took place last year. Anitognish, N.S. resident Kathy Nicholson won the “Uncover us a Flavour” contest with this unique recipe concoction and was awarded $1,000.

The chips are being offered for a limited time only. They have been on store shelves since late May and will be sold at Covered Bridge’s retail partner locations throughout the Maritimes.

“We are always looking for innovative ways to expand our product offering,” says Greco Pizza CEO and president Mike Whittaker. “Combining two amazing Maritime flavours into one delicious product is a perfect opportunity to do just that. It allows us put a new twist on our unique taste and deliver it to the retail market through Covered Bridge chips.”
