KELOWNA, B.C. — The B.C. Wine Institute (BCWI) is encouraging British Columbians to show their local pride in supporting the Wines of British Columbia (BC VQA). The institute’s new initiative has rallied 28 of the province’s top restaurants to celebrate BC VQA wines with a month-long promotion.

As part of the Wines-by-the-Glass promotion, each participating restaurant is offering a minimum of three BC VQA wines from the promotion’s 35 participating wineries, including 50th Parallel Estate, CedarCreek Estate Winery and Quails’ Gate Winery, until August 22.

To accompany the promotion, BCWI is also offering a Pour-&-Pair contest on Instagram and Twitter through to the end of December. The contest gives participants the change to win a five day multi-region BC Wine Experience for two (valued at $5,600). Entrants must take a photo of their favourite BC VQA wine (including the label) paired with their favourite dish and post to either Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #BCVQAPourandPair.
