Bistro Wins Booze Battle

TORONTO – According to reports in The Globe and Mail, the soon-to-launch Ici Bistro on Toronto’s gentrifying Harbord Street has won its long licensing battle with The Liquor and Gaming Commission and city deputy mayor, Joe Pantalone.

The deputy worried that serving alcohol in the gritty neighbourhood would set the wrong precedent, but he is now content knowing the new licence does not automatically extend to future proprietors. To read the full article, click here.
