FREDERICTON — The Garrison District Ale House in Fredericton is undergoing a complete rebuild after a fire destroyed it in early January.
“At this point it looks like there will be a four to six month period before we re-open. Construction crews will be spending a few weeks stripping everything down before the rebuild,” the owners announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page, adding that the wine survived the fire as it was stored in a temperature-controlled vault.
In the meantime, Doug Williams, who co-owns the restaurant, told CBC News he had to lay off 38 employees. A Jan. 27 fundraiser is being organized on Facebook to raise funds for the laid-off workers.
