WATERLOO, Ont. — CaliBurger has opened its first Canadian location in Waterloo, Ont.’s university district.
The burger chain, which operates 22 locations worldwide, features a fast-casual restaurant format focused on made-to-order meals prepared in an open concept kitchen. The restaurant’s menu offers “California-style” hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, hand-mixed spiked milkshakes and fresh hand-cut fries. The Waterloo location will also feature Cali Lager on draught, from Brick Brewery, and Station Cold Brew’s Nitro Cold Brew Coffee.
“Waterloo is a great market for our first Canadian store and we’re thrilled to open our doors,” says John Miller, co-founder and chairman of CaliBurger. “The region is known for being one of the country’s biggest technology hot spots. It attracts talented students, inventors, community leaders and savvy entrepreneurs — individuals with ambitions that align closely with the CaliBurger brand and its founders.”
In addition to bringing a new style of burger to Canada, CaliBurger also features innovative in-store technology including a video wall that delivers an interactive gaming experience and wireless charging stations.
The team plans to open new units in Vancouver and southern Ontario this year.
