LONDON, U.K. — Spain’s El Celler De Can Roca has pushed three-time winner, Denmark’s Noma, to the second spot on San Pellegrino’s annual list of the world’s top 100 restaurants. Canada was missing from the list altogether.

“We don’t know if we are the best, but you can be sure we will continue working with audacity, with generosity and with creativity,” Joan Roca was quoted by Time magazine as saying while accepting the award in London, England.

Meanwhile, the awards presentation also honoured Alain Ducasse (Lifetime Achievement), Italy’s Nadia Santini (World’s Best Female Chef) and South Africa’s The Test Kitchen (Restaurant to Watch).

This year’s top 10 list included Italy’s Osteria Francescana, Spain’s Mugaritz, The U.S.’s Eleven Madison Park, Brazil’s Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Spain’s Arzak, Austria’s Sterereck and Germany’s Vendome.

Interestingly, the list favoured Latin American cuisine, which shows the shifting culinary tastes. [TheWorlds50Best]
