VANCOUVER — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning consumers to avoid halal meats sold at certain B.C. stores and markets due to a recent E. coli scare.
The beef and lamb products, produced by Country Meadow Meats, have been voluntarily recalled. So far, no illnesses have been reported, but the CFIA is urging people to avoid the products, which it says may not look or smell spoiled. The affected establishments are Bengal Meat Limited, Yaas Bazaar Mediterranean & Middle Eastern Food, Shaista’s Halal, Al-Safa Halal Meat and Madina Halal Meat Market.
