Dario Guescini Named Director, Work Integrated Learning at George Brown

TORONTO — George Brown College has named Dario Guescini to the newly created role of director, Work Integrated Learning.

The new role was created thanks to a grant from Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) in support of Experiential Learning Initiatives. Reporting to the vice-president Academic, the role of director, Work Integrated Learning was created to collaborate closely with senior leaders, the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Working Group and other stakeholders to develop a community of practice and provide strategic leadership in the areas of field education, strengthening sustainable system-wide capacity for experiential learning, alignment with internationalization strategy and improving student access to impactful field learning experiences.

Guescini will take on the new role effective Jan. 22. He has been with George Brown College since 2013, as the Chair in the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Guescini is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and a Six Sigma Certified Industrial Engineer with more than 20 years of professional experience within the public post-secondary and private sectors.
