VAL D’OR, Que. — The Government of Canada has awarded a financial contribution of $47,750 to Ékorce Kombucha — a new business whose products are already well-established at points of sale across Quebec, after only six months of existence.

The funding, which took the form of a non-repayable contribution, was provided under Canada Economic Development’s (CED) Quebec Economic Development Program. The support resulted in the creation of three jobs and allowed the company to upgrade its production plant facilities, acquire the equipment needed to produce its tea-based beverage and set up a cold room that complies with required standards.

“The Government of Canada is proud to support the startup of Ékorce Kombucha, and to deliver on its commitments by boosting economic growth, innovation and job creation in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region,” says The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister responsible for CED.
