P.E.I. — All foodservice establishments in P.E.I. will soon be required to have at least one employee who has taken food-safety training, reports CBC News.
This amendment to food-safety regulations, which was drawn up in November 2014, is set to come into effect beginning April 1.
Food-safety training has always been encouraged, but has never been a requirement. The Department of Health and Wellness officials says the majority of restaurants and cafeterias on the island already have trained staff in place.
