TORONTO — International meal-plan service company, HelloFresh, is adding Canada to its list of supported countries. Starting immediately, residents in Ontario can visit HelloFresh.ca  to order meal boxes, which offer locally sourced ingredients with easy-to-follow recipes.

“We’re excited about our launch in Canada and about the opportunity to help busy Canadians eliminate the planning, shopping and prepping so they can focus on the best, most enjoyable, and rewarding aspects of making a home-cooked meal,” says Ian Brooks, managing director of HelloFresh Canada. “Opening our delivery zone outside of the Greater Toronto Area immediately upon our launch in Canada was important to us. We want to make sure everyone, regardless of their region, can have access to high-quality, fresh meal options.”

HelloFresh was founded in Germany in 2011 and expanded to the U.K., U.S., Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and Canada, where it delivers 7.5 million meals per month. HelloFresh has a straight-forward system: customers choose a week’s worth of meal options which are then delivered to their homes in specially packaged boxes that sustain ingredients’ freshness. Each recipe is designed in a test-kitchen by a team of chefs and dietitians.

“The convenience of the boxes along with the nutritious and delicious contents, are a step in the right direction to help redefine dinner-time for families,” says Irene Ngo, the head of culinary at HelloFresh Canada, who personally oversees the development of each recipe. “Not only are we saving people time, we are also letting them take back control of dinner and eliminate stress without sacrificing the convenience they crave.”
