TORONTO — Humber College has introduced new certificate programs for the upcoming winter semester, designed for students who want to explore unique routes in the hospitality and foodservice industry.

New course offerings include the Active & Healthy Senior Living Operations Certificate and Food Service Operations Certificate programs.

The Active & Healthy Senior Living Operations program is ideal for those who already work in the senior living industry and want to increase their level of responsibility, or those who work in a related industry and want to shift their career paths. In addition to covering areas such as finance, operations management, marketing and human resources, this program emphasizes senior wellness, recreation and nutrition.

Food Service Operations is designed for students who want to gain hands-on learning that will prepare them for work in the foodservice operations industry. The program branches out from the traditional restaurant route and also focuses on food trucks, catering and retail store operations. It offers students right out of highschool, who may not be ready to commit to a full-time program, an opportunity to get their foot in the door and will prepare them for further studies, if they choose.
