To mark McDonald’s Canada’s 50th anniversary, the restaurant chain is re-opening its first Canadian location in Richmond, B.C. on Friday, June 23rd.

“This restaurant is a tremendous source of pride for our McFamily,” says Shelly Hansen, regional vice-president, Western Canada, McDonald’s Canada. “Fifty years ago, we were thrilled to start our McDonald’s Canada journey, right here in B.C. Today, we feel very happy and fortunate to celebrate this significant milestone with the community that has supported us for so many years.”

For the opening weekend, the restaurant staff will wear original uniforms and there will be a one-day $0.67 hamburger special — harkening back to days when the chain first arrived in Canada.

The renovated restaurant will also feature the location’s original Golden Arches.
