EDMONTON — Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) continuing education students are in for a sweet summer as they now have access to the culinary school’s first ‘Chocolate Boot Camp.’
The newest four-day course joins the school’s roster of culinary and pastry-themed boot camps. “Our boot camps are among our most popular Continuing Education programs,” said Nancy Milakovic, business and hospitality project manager. “It’s rewarding to see people at all levels of culinary ability ‘graduate’ from these programs with confidence and enthusiasm — everyone takes something away. Our newest camp, For the Love of Chocolate, is going to be really exciting, because we are teaching both sweet and savory offerings. Students will have an opportunity to really stretch their culinary muscles with this one.”
Donning culinary uniforms, complete with camouflage scarves, aprons and hats, NAIT students will work closely with chefs to hone their techniques in three courses that run in July: For the Love of Chocolate Boot Camp, which runs from July 15 to 18; Pastry Boot Camp, which runs from July 7 to 11; and Culinary Boot Camp, which runs from July 8 to 11 and July 15 to 18.
