CALGARY — Canada Beef has appointed Matthieu Paré as its new director of the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence (CBCE). The CBCE is located within Canada Beef’s Calgary headquarters and serves as a global leader in beef communication, culinary training, education and business development, with onsite commercial kitchens and a beef-fabrication room.

“Canada Beef selected Mathieu for his experience positioning a brand around food,” says Marty Carpenter, departing director of the CBCE, Canada Beef. “His creative approach and confidence in delivery will be invaluable, given the diversity of clients the CBCE works with.”

Paré is a professional chef and recipient of the Governor General Award. He has extensive experience in fine dining garnered in Western-Canadian restaurants, including La Chaumière, Rouge, Quail’s Gate Estate Winery and CP Rail’s The Royal Canadian Pacific. His primary focus is on classic technique coupled with surprise elements such as fusion.

“As a chef, I’ve always appreciated the world-class quality the Canadian beef industry delivers,” says Paré. “I’m excited to share the Canadian beef-brand story and celebrate the beauty of our product at this amazing facility.”
