WINNIPEG — A new restaurant serving indigenous cuisine, Feast Cafe Bistro, has opened in Winnipeg’s West End neighbourhood.

“I thought this would be a great opportunity to bring our First Nations foods to that next level and open up this restaurant and hopefully be a pillar in the community,” Christa Bruneau-Guenther, owner, Feast Cafe Bistro told CBC News.

Menu items will feature indigenous dishes using local ingredients such as Pickerel Sliders baked with lemon pepper pickerel and dill chive mayo ($10.75); Bison Cheddar Burger featuring a Manitoba grass-fed bison patty, Bothwell cheddar and Feast BBQ sauce ($10.95); Bannock Butternut Squash Pizza with white sauce, oven-roasted butternut squash, mozzarella, cheddar, toasted pine nuts, green onions and chipotle sour cream drizzle ($7.45).
