TORONTO — Toronto’s first all-éclair bakery just landed on Queen St. W.
The Nügateau pâtisserie and café offers a variety of fresh-made éclairs and hand-crafted drinks. Pastry chef and co-owner Atul Palghadmal (formerly of Jelly Modern Donuts) creates a range of nine seasonal flavours complete with cream filling and glaze pairing — including classic custard and chocolate.
Current offerings include Japanese Matcha, Persian Pistachio, Maple Bacon and Salted Caramel ($4.50 to $5.50 each). Palghadmal piloted savoury versions of the hand-piped treats last month including foie gras mousse with truffle oil and tomato glaçage ($8.50) and smoked salmon with avocado and wasabi
crème ($7.50).
Future items include Toronto-centric éclairs, featuring hand-drawn imagery of the city skyline and iconic streetcars.
