ORHMA to Honour Industry Leaders

TORONTO — The Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association (ORHMA) is preparing for its inaugural Toronto Restaurant Awards, honouring the top professionals and organizations that have made an impact on the city’s restaurant industry.

Winners include Lana Duke from Ruth’s Chris for Restaurateur of the Year; Ecolab for Supplier of the year; and Tom Brodi of Toca for Chef of the Year.

Jim Greenwood will receive the Industry Recognition Award. People’s Choice Awards will be given to Velma Pascual of Pickle Barrel Sherway Gardens who is the Favourite Server and Fabarnak, which is the Favourite Restaurant.

The Jan. 24 event, which will be held at Toronto’s Palais Royale Ballroom, will be emceed by Chum FM radio personality Roger Ashby and will feature tasting stations. Proceeds will benefit The Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at Toronto’s George Brown College.
