HALIFAX — After a four-month closure, 31-year-old Halifax staple Ray’s Lebanese Cuisine is back in business in a new location on Akerley Boulevard in Dartmouth, N.S.

Ray’s exited his Scotia Square location in Halifax after the centre announced a $3-million renovation to the premises. Both Ray’s and A Taste of India Foods were evicted after receiving notice that rents would increase. That’s when Ray Khatter, owner, went searching for a new location at 75 Akerley Blvd. “It probably does me some good, after being in the same place for 31 years. I should do some change,” Khatter told CTV News.

The restaurant opened yesterday morning to a line-up several hundred deep. Ray’s continues to offer a similar menu that focuses on falafel and sandwiches.
