Chef Gino Guercio has a new restaurant in Kleinburg, Ont. — relocating from Tokyo to open Belsito Trattoria-Vino. The 76-seat restaurant, located steps from the Kortright Centre for Conservation and the Humber River Trails, is an ideal place to socialize and celebrate while savouring an innovative lunch, dinner or weekend brunch. The restaurant’s menu fuses tradition with innovative cooking techniques and combines authentic Mediterranean ingredients with premium local and imported products. Offerings include tripe with cannellini beans, tomatoes and grana padano ($7); 8 oz. Alberta black angus filet mignon layered with rösti potatoes and grilled asparagus with a barolo red wine jus ($45) and linguine frutti di mare “al cartoccio” featuring PEI mussels, littleneck clams, Thai black tiger shrimps, calamari, baby octopus, scallops, tomato and white wine sauce ($25).
