Restaurant Buzz: Field & Social

0

A salad-focused eatery has entered downtown Vancouver’s lunch scene. Working with local farmers and some of Vancouver’s best chefs, Field & Social serves up seasonal, chef-designed salads in a beautifully designed space. The fast-casual concept features a sleek modern aesthetic created with marble counters, copper-piping shelves and copper light fixtures. The space offers seating for 30 guests at picnic-style communal tables and a wooden bar overlooking the street. The lunch joint’s menu offers items such as the Rustic Orzo Bowl made with grilled chicken, Tuscan kale, crisped pancetta, roasted walnuts, arugula, organic cornetto pepper, orzo, Genovese basil and a honey-and-whole grain mustard dressing ($14); Sen Lek Smoked Tofu salad with rice noodles, ramen egg, shiitake mushrooms, sautéed vegetables, scallions, sesame seeds, sweet herbs, hazelnuts, crispy shallots and a roasted hazelnut sauce with chili and lime ($12.50); and butternut squash soup with pumpkin seed oil and fermented lime ($4).
