Kupfert & Kim has launched its first stand-alone restaurant concept with a fast-casual service style. The 1,500-sq.-ft. space — designed by co-founders Mark Kupfert and Daniel Suss with Spencer Lui — features 36 seats, a geometrically beveled ceiling, copper-based Mass Lights by Denmark-based Norm Design and wall-to-ceiling glass dividers covered in Kupfert & Kim murals. The restaurant’s menu offers minimally processed vegan and gluten-free fare including a chipotle black-bean burger with lettuce, pickled jalapeño, pico de gallo, guacamole, chipotle aioli and garlic cashew aioli ($11) and red lentil curry with potato, broccoli, onion, cauliflower and brown rice ($10.39). There are also plans to launch a weekend brunch menu in the near future. The location is licensed and will eventually feature a gluten-free cider, gluten-free beer, biodynamic wines and cocktails in addition to the two kombucha teas currently on tap.
