Restaurant Buzz: Union Chicken

0

Union Chicken opened its doors at Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke in March. The brainchild of Yannick Bigourdan, owner of The Carbon Bar; Adam Teolis, The Carbon Bar’s opening general manager; Michael Angeloni, former executive chef of Grand Electric; and Dan Kennedy, an operations expert with a wealth of experience from several national restaurant chains, the full-service rotisserie-chicken restaurant serves only the highest-quality organic free-range chickens raised on local family-run farms without the use of hormones or antibiotics.

The 80-seat restaurant features a welcoming patio and is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and take-out. The menu includes free-range organic rotisserie chicken (quarter $9, half $16, whole $28), Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($12), Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($8), Rotisserie Sweet Potato ($9), Biscuits, Eggs & Gravy ($12) and Dark Chocolate Mousse Parfait ($9), along with a small selection of sandwiches.
