TORONTO — Restaurants Canada hosted its annual RC Show Preview last night, offering media and sponsors an advanced look at some of the new products and technology to be featured at RC Show 2018.

The preview, hosted at Restaurants Canada’s event space, featured participants such as High Liner Culinary, Kodisoft, Backhouse, Gibson’s Finest, Diversey, Tellspec, Toronto Container Company, Crystal Skull Vodka, Edible Helium Balloons and Sterling Silver Premium Meats.

Some of the innovative new offerings showcased at the event included Reverse Tap and Seedlip Distilled Non-Alcoholic Spirit. Reverse Tap is a beer-dispensing system that fills specially designed glassware and disposable cups from the bottom up. This process results in reduced waste and increased server/bartender efficiency. Seedlip offers the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirits, which allows mixologists to create mocktails with intriguing flavours.

During the course of the evening, attendees were treated to a variety of beverages and small bites created by Restaurants Canada chef and culinary curator, Charlotte Langley and her team, alongside a variety of samples from featured restaurants and suppliers.

Midway through the evening, Shanna Munro, president and CEO of Restaurants Canada, addressed attendees and highlighted some of the key features they can expect to see at this year’s trade show — themed “Innovation Unleashed.”

“Once a year, we celebrate our fabulous industry at our annual RC Show — Canada’s largest foodservice trade event…The RC Show aims to educate, but first and foremost, to stimulate and energize,” Munro said. “From inspiring talks, eye-opening demonstrations, interactive stage performances, engaging competitions and a slew of networking events, the RC Show 2018 is where you will discover new ideas, products and services that are changing Canada’s and the world’s culinary landscape. Tonight’s event provides you with a sneak peek at the innovators, brands and products that are shaping our industry.”

RC Show 2018 will take place at the Enercare Centre in Toronto from Feb. 25 to 27.
