MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Second Cup is celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday witha new artist-designed Canada 150 cup, as well as a ReCrafted Maple Latte featuring pure maple syrup from Quebec.

The new cup is a tribute to Canada’s unique spirit, proud history and cultural identity and was designed by world-famous Canadian artist John Coburn. The Canada 150 cup also profiles 13 iconic Canadian landmarks and valued traditions, including skating on the Rideau Canal, the RCMP Heritage Centre in Regina, Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Cape Spear Lighthouse in Newfoundland and recognition of Montreal’s 375th birthday.

Second Cup is the only Canadian national specialty-coffee company and, in keeping with its authentic roots, the new ReCrafted Maple Latte features pure maple syrup from Quebec’s Bernard Family — one of Canada’s most famous maple syrup producers. The ReCrafted lineup also includes a Maple Frappe and a shot of real maple syrup can be added to either of these drinks.

“Our customers and franchisees are very proud of Second Cup’s Canadian heritage,” says Vanda Provato, vice-president, Marketing and Category. “That’s why we’re celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday with a new beautifully designed cup that reflects Second Cup communities and a recrafted customer favourite.”

The Canada 150 cup and ReCrafted Maple lineup are available for a limited time in all Second Cup cafés, beginning March 7, 2017.
