TORONTO — The Second Annual Smoke’s Poutinerie World Poutine Eating Championship is set to kick off Sept. 24 from the chain’s Mobile Truck at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
The 10-minute all-you-can-eat competition will challenge contestants to consume the brand’s traditional poutine, which includes hand-cut fries, cheese curds and signature gravy.
And, this year, Smoke’s has introduced a new amateur contest with prizes such as free poutine for a year.
In 2010, Pat “Deep Dish” Bertoletti took the title of World Poutine Eating Champion after throwing back 13 pounds of the Canuck fav.
The event will be held at 1 Blue Jays Way, Saturday, Sept. 24 at 5 p.m., prior to the Toronto Argos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers kick off. For further details, visit smokespoutinerie.com.
