TORONTO — It’s been announced that a new brigade of chefs have been added to the roster of 120 chefs set to cook at Michael Stadtländer’s Soupstock, which will be held at Woodbine Park in Toronto Oct. 21.
Lynn Crawford, Jamie Kennedy, Brad Long and Donna Dooher will join Aaron Bear Robe of Keriwa Cafe, Craig Harding of Campagnolo, Anthony Rose of Rose and Sons and Connie DeSousa of Charcut in the sequel to last year’s Foodstock, where 28,000 supporters donated money as part of a giant cookout that supported the fight against Highland Companies’ proposed limestone mega quarry in the Township of Melancthon, north of Toronto.
This year, the chefs will concoct original soups, with produce donated by local Ontario producers.
“By participating in Soupstock we hope to motivate Torontonians to join the inspiring movement to stop the mega quarry and protect our precious headwaters and farmland,” said chef Jamie Kennedy of Jamie Kennedy Kitchens.
The event will be hosted by Canadian Chefs’ Congress, in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation.
