Oakville, Ont. — Tim Hortons is set to expand to the U.K. with its first standalone location in Scotland, reports the Financial Post.

Restaurant Brands International (RBI) originally announced plans to take the brand to the U.K. last summer as part of an aggressive international expansion plan.

“This deal is part of our growth plan to take the iconic Tim Hortons brand around the world,” Daniel Schwartz, CEO of RBI, stated in August. “Great Britain is an attractive QSR market with a strong and growing coffee culture, so it is a natural fit for the brand.”

The first U.K. location is expected to open on Argyle St. in Glasglow later this spring.
