OKANAGAN, B.C. — Donald Triggs is embarking on a new wine journey, celebrating the completion of his new, state-of-the-art winery, on the Golden Mile Bench in South Okanagan, B.C.

The Culmina Family Estate Winery, which was named for the Latin word for ‘peak,’ represents the culmination of Triggs’ lifelong study of wine. The family purchased the land in 2007 and teamed up with French oenology consultant Alain Sutre, who helped analyze the virgin land. Now, Culmina’s bounty includes varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay, Riesling and Grüner Veltliner.

“Our passion for creating icon-quality wines is stronger than ever. What I have treasured most has been the opportunity to develop Culmina’s vision with my family. We are really looking forward to sharing our wine with everyone,” said Triggs, who manages the estate with his wife, Elaine, and daughter, Sara.

Culmina will open to the public Aug. 23, offering a limited-release of carefully crafted wines.
