TORONTO — King Street Food Company is expanding the Buca brand to the Yonge-and-Eglinton and Yonge-and-St. Clair communities.

“We have identified two thriving neighbourhoods that are a perfect fit to grow the Buca brand,” says Peter Tsebelis, partner and managing director, King Street Food Company. “We look forward to drawing inspiration from our new surroundings in order to build community-specific concepts that we hope will become the fabric of the area.”

The new locations will be helmed by chef Rob Gentile, partner and culinary director of King Street Food Company, who will design and curate the food program. The new Yonge-and-Eglinton location is an expanded Bar-Buca concept, which begins its transformation in late 2017. Slated for opening in spring 2018, it will serve as an all-day Italian-inspired bar and café with a focus on small, seasonal dishes, specialty coffee, pastries and a unique, carefully crafted cocktail list of Italian classics. It also adds an extended homemade gelato offering, new pizza menu and takeaway service to suit the neighbourhood’s growing work and residential groups.

A brand new restaurant and Buca concept will be located on the northwest corner of the Yonge-and-St. Clair intersection. The special Buca concept, to be unveiled in Fall 2018, will be tailored specifically for the neighbourhood and will serve as a dining spot for building tenants and the surrounding community. This new Buca outpost is part of the revitalization of Yonge-and-St. Clair, led by Slate Asset Management.
