VANCOUVER — Vancouver Island’s deVine Wines & Spirits has been named British Columbia Distillery of the Year at the New York International Spirits Competition.
The award is presented by a distinguished panel of judges made up of industry professionals, including retail-store buyers, sommeliers, hoteliers and importers. This year’s competition featured approximately 600 spirits from around the world.
“Our team at deVine was thrilled to be recognized by industry critics, judges and buyers in a teeming, competitive market like New York City,” says distiller Ken Winchester.
In addition to capturing the British Columbia Distillery title, deVine received a Silver medal for its Dutch-style Genever Gin — Canada’s only Dutch-style gin.
