LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Yum Brands launched a fast-casual concept today in Dallas. Banh Shop, a Vietnamese-style sandwich shop, serves Southeast Asian salads, bowls and sandwiches.

“We saw an opportunity to design a unique fast-casual concept that emulates Saigon street food, with a focus on the Vietnamese banh mi sandwich,” Christophe Poirier, VP, Yum Brands, said at a press event, according to CultureMap Dallas.

The upscale market-style restaurant features banh mi sandwiches such as pickled carrot, Thai basil, aiolo, pork meatballs, tofu and chicken ($5.95 to $6.95). The shop also serves Southeast-Asian-inspired salads, soups and American-style sandwiches such as ham and cheese.

Banh Shop’s first location opens today, with a second planned for the DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth International) Airport.
