TORONTO — This week, Igloo Food Equipment invited customers and the community to help celebrate its grand re-opening in a new Toronto location.
The day’s festivities featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Toronto city councillor Michael Ford, Doug Ford, local councillor for Ward 8 York West, Anthony Perruzza and Judy Sgro, MP for the riding of York West.
“I am very pleased to be back here. I was here last year for [Igloo’s] Customer Appreciation Day and I’m thrilled to see so much growth that they needed this location,” said Sgro, who presented owner Stan Snieg with a scroll on behalf of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Representatives from Igloo Poland were also in attendance — presenting Snieg with a sword and shield in honour of the occasion.
The event also featured cooking and product demonstrations — including a truffle demonstration by Niagara Falls, Ont.-based Criveller Cakes — food and beverage sampling, door prizes and a cake created by Criveller Cakes.
Igloo’s new showroom is located at 124 Norfinch Dr., Toronto, and at 75,000 sq. ft, is one of Canada’s largest.
