WHITBY, Ont. — On Sept. 22, Durham College’s Centre for Food (CFF) will host its second annual Harvest Dinner, where culinary students will share the college’s “field-to-fork” philosophy with more than 130 community members.
The dinner — which will showcase Durham College’s culinary, events management, horticulture and hospitality programs — is planned and executed by CFF students and faculty, and is the culmination of countless hours spent in fields, labs, classrooms and kitchens.
The evening’s events include a cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres; seating at a traditional harvest table, which runs the length of the CFF’s garden path; a multi-course, family-style meal served outdoors; recipes featuring produce grown, picked and prepared by CFF students; and a special visit from celebrity chef and CFF ambassador Jamie Kennedy.
Ticket sales for the event support bursaries for students enrolled in CFF programs.
