B.C. Finalizes Franchise Laws

0

VANCOUVER — British Columbia has released the regulations to its previously enacted Franchises Act (BC). The regulations will be enforced starting Feb. 1, 2017, making B.C. the sixth Canadian province to have specific disclosure legislation.

The regulations, which reflect both the template franchise regulation developed by the Uniform Law Conference of Canada and the recommendations made on the proposed regulations by the British Columbia Law Institute, are on-par with those of the other five provinces.

More analysis and commentary on the new franchise law is expected.
