SASKATOON — Scott Torgerson, the executive chef at the Radisson Hotel Saskatoon will be competing at this year’s Culinary Olympics in Germany.

Torgerson, Saskatchewan’s lone competitor on Team Canada, told Global News he’s excited to perform on the international stage — his first time competing for Canada.

Over four days, the team will compete against 31 countries to prepare hot and cold dishes. At the 2012 Culinary Olympics, Canada picked up a silver in the cold plate and gold in the hot plate, finishing fourth in the overall standings.

Torgerson says he can’t reveal the team’s menu, but says it will feature Canadian content — including a fish appetizer and a main course featuring Canadian beef.

The Culinary Olympics runs October 22 to 25.
