TORONTO — The winners of the 2019 Canadian Brewing Awards were announced at the Toronto Westin Harbour Castle hotel at a three-day conference in May.
Clifford Brewing in Hamilton, Ont. took home the title of Brewery of the Year, while the Red Racer After Hours Pale Ale, made by Central City Brewers in Surrey, B.C., was named Beer of the Year.
The winning beers from all 55 style categories were selected in a series of blind tastings by a panel of certified judges from the Beer Judge Certification Program. This year’s winners include:
North American Style Lager
Bronze: Mucho Oro Lager, Barkerville Brewing Co. (Quesnel, B.C.)
Silver: 3 Speed, Amsterdam Brewing Company (Toronto)
Gold: Ides of January – O-PEE-CHEE Lager, Henderson Brewing Co. (Toronto)
North American Style Amber/Red Ale
Bronze: 18 Karat Ale, Barkerville Brewing Co. (Quesnel, B.C.)
Silver: Doc Perdue’s Bobcat, West Coast Red Ale, Cowbell Brewing Co. (Blyth, Ont.)
Gold: Red Line IPA, Torque Brewing Inc. (Winnipeg)
North American Style Blonde or Golden Ale
Bronze: Brewmaster Blonde Ale, Common Crown Brewing Company (Calgary)
Silver: Bastion Blonde Ale, White Sails Brewing Ltd. (Nanaimo, B.C.)
Gold: La Blonde de L’Anse, Pit Caribou (Montreal)
American Style India Pale Ale
Bronze: Iron Horse Trail IPA, Red Circle Brewing Co. (Kitchener, Ont.)
