TORONTO — LEAF and Restaurants Canada are now accepting applications for the second-annual LEAF Awards to be presented at next year’s RC Show in Toronto.
The LEAF Awards recognize hospitality operators’ commitment to the environment, the progress they have made and the hard work they put into making their business as sustainable as possible.
The awards presented include the Greenest Restaurants, Greenest Facility over 10,000 sq. ft., Most Improved and the Eco-Innovator of the Year. Past winners include Chic Alors! of Quebec (Greenest Restaurant) and Creelman Market at the University of Guelph (Eco-Innovator).
The Eco-Innovator award recognizes one restaurateur’s achievement in implementing a new technology or innovative solution to a problem, resulting in a reduction in the environmental impact of the facility. This is the only award available to non-LEAF members.
The deadline to apply for the Eco-Innovator of the Year award is November 30. Application forms and further information on the awards are available here.
