Restaurants Canada Hosts Media Preview

TORONTO — Restaurants Canada held a media preview last night to reveal a small sample of what to look forward to at this year’s Restaurants Canada Show.

The preview was hosted at Restaurants Canada’s event space and featured the latest foodservice products alongside culinary and cocktail masters. Participants included Saputo, High Liner Culinary, Entomo Farms, Lavelle, the Humber Food Truck, Diamond Estates: The Winery, Lorelyn’s and Rescue 7.

New innovations included the Teabot — a grab-and-go tea machine offering 18 different types of tea — and the Fornoteca Duetto — a pizza oven that creates a perfectly cooked pizza in as little as 90 seconds. Guests also had the opportunity to try a variety of foods, such as sous-vide sea scallops with plantain hash, jerk butter and pimento smoke prepared by High Liner Culinary’s chef/culinary manager Philman George.

The Restaurants Canada Show will take place Feb. 26 to 28 at the Enercare Centre in Toronto.
