PORTLAND, Ore. – The long-held belief that soil, or “terroir” can impart flavours into your favourite vintages of wine was debunked at a recent meeting of the Geological Society of America. While oenophile the world over may disagree, the scientists say whatever taste you think you find in a wine, certainly doesn’t come from the soil.
