Acadian Culture to be Celebrated at Chefs’ Congress

TORONTO — A lobster feast on the beach will set the stage for the next Canadian Chefs’ Congress to be held near Wolfville, N.S., the centre of Acadian settlement, from Sept. 16 to 18.

Expected to attract approximately 500 Canadian chefs and foodservice professionals, the exclusive biennial event will highlight unique food culture. Participants will experience the role of family farms in Canada and the struggles the local producers experience while contributing to the foodservice economy. The culinary history and influence of Acadian culture and the health of our oceans are also key components of the meeting.

Chef’s confirmed to attend the Canadian Chefs’ Congress include Martin Ruiz Salvador, Fleur de Sel, Lunenburg; Jamie Kennedy, Jamie Kennedy Kitchens, Toronto; Paul Rogalski, Rouge, Calgary; Brigitte Kollner, Yukon College, Whitehorse; and Michael Smith, P.E.I., among others.
