WINNIPEG — Age rules at Toad in the Hole’s new whisky bar in Winnipeg, where patrons 24 and under aren’t invited.

“There are lot of people that used to come here that quite frankly don’st go out anymore, because there are a lot of men and women in their 30s and 40s that don’st want to hang out with a bunch of 18-year-old kids,” owner Michael Monk told The Winnipeg Free Press of the age requirement.

The bar-within-a-bar, which opened in June in Osborne Village, serves 78 varieties of whisky as well as wine and imported beer.

So far, the establishment has received mixed reviews from younger patrons.
