CALGARY — Despite economic conditions, Albertans are still dining out, and setting monthly sales records to boot, reports CBC News Calgary.
According to a recent report from ATB Financial, Albertans spent $761 million in restaurant and bar sales in May, breaking the record of $752 million set in August last year.
Considering the province’s economic downturn, these statistics are bit surprising. Last month, TD Economics even released a report suggesting this recession as the most severe the province has ever endured.
