TORONTO — Graffigna Wines held its official Canadian launch party last night, Nov. 8, in the heart of Toronto’s Fashion District.

Attendees circled the swank, urban venue sampling several options available at the LCBO, such as the Pinot Grigio and the Syrah as well as several bottles not yet on Canadian shelves, like a Malbec, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a signature blend — all from the winery’s Santiago collection.

And, Canadians growing appetite for Argentinean wine shows as Emilio Ferro, the winery’s brand development manager for North America, told the crowd Canada is Argentina’s number 2 export market worldwide, importing about a million cases more per year than the U.K.

To add more than a little visual interest, famed Buenos Aries street artist Franco Fasoli, better known as Jaz, regaled the crowd with his art. As part of the launch, Fasoli spent the previous weekend painting a nearby outdoor mural with his trademark brand of graffiti. For Fasoli, Toronto is just another stamp on his international artistic passport, with projects already completed across South America and Europe.
