TORONTO — The Whopper just got angrier. Burger King teamed up with George Kourounis, co-creator and host of Angry Planet, to unveil its new Angriest Whopper.
The Angriest Whopper features a flavour-infused red bun, baked with hot sauce, crispy onion petals, spicy sauce and jalapeños piled high atop flame-grilled beef and layered with crispy bacon, melted cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise.
The burger is the latest in a series of limited-time offerings featuring flavour-infused coloured buns, including the Premium Kuro black burger, which premiered in Japan, followed by the Red Samurai burger. More recently the chain released its Halloween Whopper sandwich with a black bun.
Kourounis is taking four Angry Whopper enthusiasts from across the world for the opportunity to flame-grill Burger King patties over fire retrieved from the Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala.
The Angriest Whopper will be available beginning April 4, for a limited time.
