WHISTLER, B.C. — Whistler’s Araxi restaurant is bringing out the big guns for an exclusive winemakers’ dinner to be held Nov. 12 during Cornucopia: Whistler’s Celebration of Wine and Food.

The Big Guns Winemakers’ Dinner will highlight five wineries, including four from Napa Valley and one from Walla Walla, Wash., all of which boast sustainable farming on family owned properties.

“Each of the wineries has achieved critical acclaim and international followings, and through the course of the evening, introductions to each wine will be led by winery principals, including discussion on technique and terroir,” reads the press release heralding the event.

Executive chef James Walt will accentuate the wine with a five-course menu that will pay homage to Pemberton Valley’s autumn harvest, while featuring some global ingredients. Each plate will complement the parade of wines to be showcased, including Ehlers Estate Sauvignon Blanc, St. Helena, Napa Valley, 2009; Pahlmeyer Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, 2007; and Pepper Bridge Winery ‘Reserve’, Walla Walla Valley, 2006.

A portion of the $225 ticket price will be donated to the Whistler Health Care Foundation. For more information, click here.
