FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. — A new Italian restaurant has quietly opened its doors in downtown Fort McMurray, Alta., reports Fort McMurray Today.

Asti Trattoria Italiana has set up shop in the space that formerly housed the upscale restaurant Cosa Nostra. Its new owner, Karen Collins, retained all staff members employed by Cosa Nostra. The eatery offers a menu of Italian-inspired dishes including its signature main, Grigliata Astigiana, featuring quail, Italian sausage, chicken, sundried tomato and sirloin steak ($48).

Collins told the news outlet she’s received positive feedback about the new menu and the relaxed dress code. “A lot of people have said it’s nice to see more of a relaxed atmosphere,” Collins says. “Even the staff feels the difference, there’s a lot more laughter.”

On Sundays, Asti Trattoria Italiana will offer family-friendly sharing platters and kids’ menus; the restaurant will also be able to accommodate family-style platters during the week [fortmcmurraytoday.com].
