A&W and Marriott Hotels of Canada Named 2015 Pinnacle Award-winners

TORONTO — A&W Food Services of Canada, Inc. and Marriott Hotels of Canada and will be fêted for their contributions to the industry on Dec. 4 as part of Kostuch Media’s annual Pinnacle Awards ceremony. The Toronto-based publisher of Foodservice and Hospitality and Hotelier magazines announced the recipients of the 2015 awards to companies and individuals who have made a lasting impact on the foodservice and hospitality industries.

“With so many strong companies and individuals in the hospitality industry, determining our annual crop of winners continues to be a challenging endeavour. However, I’m pleased to say that this year’s edition represents a wonderful cross-section of the industry and highlights many of the most prolific restaurant and hotel companies in Canada’s dynamic hospitality industry,” said Rosanna Caira, editor and publisher of Kostuch Media Ltd.

Other category winners for Foodservice and Hospitality include Vancouver-based Aquilini Group (Regional Company of the Year); Pino Posteraro, chef/owner of Cioppino Mediterranean Grill (Independent Restaurateur of the Year); Carl Heinrich, executive chef/owner of Toronto’s Richmond Station (Chef of the Year); and Mother Parker’s Tea & Coffee (Supplier of the Year).

Hotelier magazine award-winners include Easton’s Group of Hotels (Regional Company of the Year); Robert Mercure, GM of the Fairmont Château Frontenac in Quebec City (Hotelier of the Year); and Toronto-based Houston Construction (Supplier of the Year).

Meanwhile, on the heels of a recent acquisitions spree by Cara Operations, Kostuch Media will be presenting the company with Newsmaker of the Year honours.

Kostuch Media will also be presenting the Rosanna Caira Lifetime Achievement Award to George Cohon, founder of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada/Russia.
