VANCOUVER — In addition to revamping its design and offering new-and-improved patties, A&W is continuing its development across Canada, celebrating the opening of its 800th restaurant in downtown Montreal.

“Several years ago, we committed to strategically accelerate our pace of expansion. With 33 new restaurants opened across the country to date in 2013, and over 70 openings in the past two years, we are proud of delivering on that strategy,” says Paul Hollands, president and CEO of A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. In the next five to seven years, the company plans to open an additional 190 units in Canada, with growth focused in Ontario and Quebec.

The 800th location in downtown Montreal features A&W’s urban concept, launched in 2010. In the Wi-Fi-enabled space, diners can place their order on self-service kiosks, and their food is served on aluminum trays and real plates.
